Eleaf Vape Coils

Eleaf vape coils are used across a wide range of Eleaf kits and tanks, including GS Air, Melo and iJust devices. There’s quite a few different coil types available, so it mostly comes down to matching the right one to your tank and how you prefer to vape.

Eleaf Vape Coils Explained

Eleaf vape coils are replaceable coil heads designed for Eleaf tanks and kits. They’re what heat the e-liquid and produce vapour, so once they wear out you’ll need to swap them out for a new one.

Most Eleaf coils are fairly simple to install, usually push-fit or screw-in depending on the tank. They’re designed to be easy enough to change without much hassle.

Eleaf Coil Types and Compatibility

There are quite a few Eleaf coil types, and they’re not interchangeable, which is where people tend to get it wrong.

Some of the main ones include:

  • GS Air coils for MTL tanks like the GS Air range
  • EC coils for Melo and iJust tanks
  • HW coils for higher wattage sub-ohm setups
  • GTL coils for newer pod tank style devices

Each one is made for specific tanks, so it’s always worth checking what your device actually uses before buying.

Eleaf Coils Resistance and Vaping Styles

Eleaf coils come in a range of resistances, covering both MTL and DTL vaping.

As a rough guide:

  • 1.0Ω and above is usually for MTL vaping with a tighter draw
  • 0.5Ω to 0.8Ω sits more in the middle (restricted DTL)
  • 0.15Ω to 0.3Ω is for full DTL and higher wattages

Different coil ranges are designed around different styles, so it’s not always one-size-fits-all.

E-Liquid Compatibility

Most Eleaf coils are designed to work with specific types of e-liquid depending on the resistance.

  • Higher resistance coils work better with 50/50 liquids or nic salts
  • Lower resistance coils are better suited to high VG liquids

If you use the wrong type, it’ll usually still work, just not very well, and the coil might not last as long.

How Long Eleaf Vape Coils Last

On average, Eleaf vape coils last around one to two weeks, depending on how much you’re using your device and what liquid you’re using.

You’ll know it’s time to change it when:

  • Flavour drops off or tastes slightly burnt
  • Vapour production isn't what it was
  • You notice gurgling or small leaks

Sweeter liquids tend to wear coils out quicker, which is pretty normal across most brands.

Why People Use Eleaf Vape Coils

Eleaf vape coils are used across a lot of devices, which makes them easy to find and replace. There’s also a good range of options, from simple MTL coils to higher power sub-ohm ones.

They’re fairly straightforward once you know which type you need. It’s mainly just a case of getting the right coil for your tank and you’re sorted.
