SMOK Replacement Vape Coils

A replacement coil is one of the main consumable parts inside a refillable vape.

The coil contains a heating element surrounded by absorbent wicking material. E-liquid soaks into that wick, and when power is supplied by the device, the heating element vaporises the liquid held around it.

That process happens repeatedly every time you use the device. Eventually, residue builds up, the wick begins to deteriorate and performance starts to drop.

When that happens, you don't normally need to replace the whole tank or kit. A fresh compatible coil is usually enough.

SMOK has produced a particularly large number of coil platforms over the years, which means choosing the right replacement can look more complicated than it actually is.

The easiest rule is simple:

Start with the exact coil family your device uses. Then choose the resistance.

These ranges are designed for different pods, tanks and kits.

A 0.15Ω coil from one SMOK family isn't automatically interchangeable with a 0.15Ω RPM 3, Mini V2 or D-Coil simply because the resistance figure looks similar.

SMOK D-Coil Series

The SMOK D-Coil Series is one of the newer high-performance coil families in our current range.

These push-fit coils are designed for compatible hardware including the SMOK TF-D Subtank and X-Priv Solo / X-Priv Plus setups.

The lower-resistance 0.15Ω option sits firmly towards DTL vaping, while the 0.4Ω version brings the required wattage down considerably.

What Devices Use SMOK D-Coils?

Current compatibility includes hardware such as:

These coils use a push-fit installation system, so they are pressed into the compatible tank rather than screwed into place.

SMOK RPM 3 Coils

The SMOK RPM 3 coil range is designed around higher-powered pod-mod hardware.

How to Replace a SMOK Coil

The installation method depends on the coil family.

Many newer SMOK pod and sub-ohm systems use push-fit coils, while older TFV and Vape Pen designs can use threaded replacements.

A typical push-fit replacement process is:

  1. Remove the pod or tank from the device.
  2. Empty or invert the cartridge if necessary.
  3. Pull the old coil from the base.
  4. Check for excess liquid or debris.
  5. Push the new compatible coil firmly into place.
  6. Refill the pod or tank.
  7. Leave the fresh coil to saturate.
