FreeMax Vape Coils

FreeMax vape coils are mainly used in sub-ohm tanks like the Fireluke range, where higher power and airflow come into play. Most options are built around mesh designs, with different resistances available depending on how you run your device.

What FreeMax Vape Coils Are

A FreeMax coil is the part of the tank that heats the e-liquid. It sits inside the tank and draws liquid into the cotton, where it’s then vaporised when the device is fired.

In most cases, these are designed for higher power use. They’re not really aimed at smaller pod systems, more at tanks that run at a higher wattage and produce a larger amount of vapour.

FreeMax Coil Ranges and Compatibility

FreeMax coils are tied quite closely to specific tanks, especially the Fireluke series.

Some of the main ones you’ll come across are:

  • Fireluke / Mesh Pro coils for sub-ohm tanks
  • M Pro and M Pro 2 coils for newer, higher output setups
  • MS coils used in Marvos kits
  • GX coils for smaller pod-style devices

They don't really overlap between ranges. Even if they look similar, they're usually built for one specific tank or device.

Mesh Coil Design

One thing FreeMax is known for is its use of mesh coil builds rather than standard wire.

Instead of a single coil wire, mesh spreads the heat across a wider surface. That tends to make the output more even, and it reaches temperature slightly quicker as well.

Some versions go further than that, using dual, triple or even quad mesh layers. It sounds excessive, but it mainly changes how much vapour is produced and how warm it feels.

Resistance and Power Range

Most FreeMax coils sit below 1.0Ω, which puts them into sub-ohm territory. Typical examples include:

  • 0.15Ω single mesh coils, often used around 70–100W
  • 0.2Ω dual mesh coils, usually slightly lower wattage
  • 0.3Ω and above for a bit less intensity

The lower the resistance, the more open and powerful the setup tends to feel. It's not exact across every coil, but the pattern is fairly consistent.

E-Liquid Compatibility

These coils are built for high VG e-liquids, usually around 70% VG or higher. That’s what matches the amount of vapour they produce.

Thinner liquids can still be used, but they don’t really perform the same way. You’ll often notice it in the output straight away.

How Long FreeMax Coils Last

There’s no fixed number, but they tend to last through a fair amount of e-liquid before needing to be replaced.

It usually changes gradually:

  • Flavour becomes less clear
  • Vapour output drops slightly
  • A dry or burnt note starts to come through

Because they run at higher power, they do wear out quicker than lower wattage coils, especially with sweeter liquids.

Why People Use FreeMax Vape Coils

FreeMax coils are mainly used in setups where output matters more. They’re built for open airflow, higher wattage, and a more direct inhale.

A lot of it comes down to consistency. Once you’ve got the right coil in place, it tends to behave the same way each time, without much need to adjust anything.

They’re not designed for smaller, low power setups. That’s not really what they’re aiming for.
