A replacement coil might be a small component, but it has a significant influence on how a refillable vape performs.
Inside every coil is a heating element surrounded by wicking material. E-liquid is absorbed by that wick and heated when the device is activated, producing the vapour you inhale. As the coil is repeatedly heated and cooled, residue gradually builds up and the wick eventually deteriorates. At that point, replacing the coil restores the consumable part of the system without requiring you to replace the complete tank or device.
VOOPOO has developed several coil platforms rather than relying on one universal design. Our current range includes three of the manufacturer's best-known replaceable coil families:
They cover very different types of hardware, from compact mouth-to-lung devices to considerably more powerful direct-to-lung kits.
Just as importantly, they are not interchangeable simply because they carry the VOOPOO name.
The easiest way to understand the current range is to separate it by platform.
That spread is useful because it means VOOPOO's replacement-coil catalogue isn't limited to one style of vaping.
At one end you have ITO coils running at relatively modest wattages. At the other are TPP variants designed to operate as high as 100W. PnP occupies a particularly broad section in between.
The VOOPOO PnP coil platform is one of the manufacturer's most widely used replaceable-coil systems.
PnP stands for "Plug and Play", referring to the push-fit installation system used by compatible pods and tanks. Instead of screwing the coil into place, you push the appropriate coil into the base of the cartridge.
Our current PnP range covers several resistance options, making the platform suitable for anything from relatively restrained RDL setups to substantially more powerful DTL devices.

The exact coil designation matters as much as the resistance because VOOPOO has produced several generations and constructions within the PnP family.
Several of the PnP variants currently represented in the range include familiar VM and TW designs.
This illustrates an important point: coil resistance alone doesn't tell the whole story.
Two coils can have similar resistance values while using different internal structures and recommended operating ranges. For that reason, always follow the wattage printed on the specific coil rather than applying a generic setting based only on its resistance.
The PnP platform has appeared across a wide range of VOOPOO hardware, particularly earlier generations of the DRAG and ARGUS families.
Depending on the exact pod or tank being used, compatible hardware has included devices such as:
Compatibility can depend on the cartridge fitted to the device, so don't assume every DRAG or ARGUS product accepts every PnP coil.
VOOPOO has continued developing its coil systems, and newer hardware may use PnP X rather than the original PnP family.
This distinction is increasingly important.
Original PnP coils and newer PnP X coils belong to related VOOPOO ecosystems, but they shouldn't automatically be treated as the same physical replacement coil.
VOOPOO's newer PnP X platform covers resistance options ranging approximately from 0.15Ω through to 1.0Ω and is used by more recent products including the DRAG S2 and DRAG X2 families.
If your device specifies PnP X, buy PnP X coils. If it specifies the original PnP platform, use an appropriate original PnP coil.
Similar naming can make the two easy to confuse, so checking the full coil designation before ordering is worthwhile.
The VOOPOO TPP coil range sits firmly toward the more powerful end of the spectrum.
TPP stands for Tank Pod Push and was developed for VOOPOO's higher-output tanks and pod-mod hardware. These coils use a push-fit installation system and are primarily designed for direct-to-lung vaping.
Our current TPP selection includes four major variants across three resistance values:
Notice that both the DM1 and DM3 measure 0.15Ω.
They're not the same coil.
The DM3 has a substantially higher recommended power range, demonstrating again why the full coil model should be checked rather than choosing solely according to resistance.
VOOPOO developed TPP coils for several of its more powerful devices and tanks.

Some devices have supported both PnP and TPP configurations through different cartridges or tanks.
That doesn't mean you can put a TPP coil directly into a standard PnP pod. The correct tank or pod housing still needs to be fitted.
TPP coils make most sense when you're using a compatible higher-powered setup and want a relatively open DTL draw.
Their characteristics generally include:
The DM4 sits at the gentler end of the family at 32–40W, while the DM3 can run between 80W and 100W.
That's a substantial difference, even within one coil platform.
The VOOPOO ITO coil range takes almost the opposite approach to TPP.
ITO coils are designed around lower-powered pod and pen-style hardware, with options spanning restricted-direct-lung, loose MTL and tighter mouth-to-lung draws.
Our current range covers four resistance options:
VOOPOO's official ITO specifications position the coils across a comparatively narrow 8–25W power range.
This makes ITO considerably easier to navigate than some of VOOPOO's larger coil families.
As resistance increases, the intended draw progressively tightens and the wattage drops.
The 0.5Ω option sits at the more open end, while the 1.2Ω M3 is aimed squarely at low-powered tight MTL use.
ITO coils are used by compatible pods including the ITO Pod and ITO-X Pod, which have appeared across several VOOPOO devices.

The coil-less VOOPOO ITO pods we stock are designed to accept these separate replacement ITO coils, giving you the option of keeping the pod and changing only the heating element when required.
If you're staring at three VOOPOO coil boxes and wondering what the actual difference is, this is the simplest breakdown:
They aren't upgrades of one another in a simple sense.
An ITO coil isn't "worse" because it runs at 12W, and a TPP coil isn't "better" because it can reach 100W. They're designed for completely different devices and draw styles.
Start with the device, not the resistance.
That's the simplest way to avoid buying the wrong coil.
Look for the complete model name printed on the device, original packaging or user manual.
"VOOPOO DRAG" alone isn't enough because there have been numerous DRAG devices using different coil platforms.
Check whether your hardware requires:
Once you've established the correct family, you can choose between the resistance options supported by your device.
Every replaceable coil has an intended operating range.
Use that figure as the main guide when setting an adjustable device.
Coil resistance is measured in ohms, represented by the Ω symbol.
Broadly, lower-resistance coils tend to be paired with higher power, while higher-resistance coils are commonly used at lower wattages.
These ranges overlap.
Coil construction matters, which is why two 0.15Ω VOOPOO coils can have very different recommended power levels.
Treat resistance as useful information, not a substitute for the manufacturer's wattage specification.
VOOPOO's different coil systems collectively cover all three major refillable vape styles.
MTL uses a tighter draw and generally lower power.
Within our current VOOPOO replacement coil range, the higher-resistance ITO coils are the clearest examples.
The 1.0Ω ITO-M2 and 1.2Ω ITO-M3 operate at just 10–14W and 8–12W respectively.
RDL sits between tight MTL and open DTL.
Options such as the 0.5Ω ITO-M0 and several mid-resistance PnP coils provide a looser draw without requiring the very high outputs associated with large sub-ohm coils.
DTL coils tend toward lower resistance, higher power and more open airflow.
The PnP and especially TPP coil ranges cover this territory, with certain TPP models operating up to 100W.
The most suitable liquid depends heavily on the particular coil.
VOOPOO's own guidance broadly separates its coils by resistance: lower-resistance 0.15–0.4Ω coils are intended for higher-power use and lower nicotine concentrations, mid-range coils around 0.4–0.8Ω occupy RDL territory, while resistance of 1.0Ω and above is geared more heavily towards MTL and nicotine salt use.
In practical terms:
The manufacturer's advice for your exact coil should always take priority.
Higher-resistance, lower-powered coils are generally the natural match for nicotine salts.
Within our current selection, the ITO-M1, M2 and M3 are the most obvious candidates for this type of e-liquid, particularly when used in compatible MTL hardware.
A 1.2Ω coil running at 8–12W behaves very differently from a 0.15Ω TPP coil running at 80–100W.
High-strength nicotine salt liquid should not simply be put into a high-output DTL setup because the coil happens to fit the device.
Match nicotine concentration to the power and draw style you're using.
Lower-resistance DTL coils generally have the larger wicking demands and power levels associated with higher-VG liquid.
TPP and lower-resistance PnP coils are more naturally suited to that sort of setup than a tight 1.2Ω MTL coil.
Again, there isn't one VG/PG ratio that suits every VOOPOO coil.
A coil intended to run at 10W and one intended for 100W are handling very different volumes of liquid and airflow.
Many modern VOOPOO replaceable coils use a mesh heating structure rather than a traditional narrow wound wire.
Mesh provides a broader heating surface, helping the element heat more evenly across the wick.
This style of construction appears throughout several VOOPOO coil platforms, including PnP, TPP and ITO variants.
The practical characteristics can include:
Mesh doesn't remove the need for correct priming or sensible power settings, though. A dry mesh coil can still burn its wick.
PnP, TPP and ITO systems all use relatively straightforward push-fit coil installation in their compatible pods or tanks.
The exact process can differ slightly between devices, but it normally follows this pattern:
Never force a coil into the housing.
If it doesn't fit naturally, stop and double-check that you've purchased the correct VOOPOO coil family.
One of the easiest ways to ruin a new coil is to fire it before the wick has absorbed enough liquid.
Fresh cotton starts dry. It needs time to pull e-liquid into the wick before heat is applied.
After installing a new coil:
That small delay is far easier than replacing a coil you've burnt on its first draw.
The recommended wattage is normally printed directly on the coil.

Going above the recommended range can overheat the coil and wick.
Using substantially less power isn't necessarily helpful either; an underpowered coil can produce weak vapour and may struggle to vaporise the liquid being supplied to it efficiently.
There's no reliable answer in days because coil life is influenced by how the coil is used.
