In the early years of vaping, regular (or "freebase") nicotine was the only option for e-liquids.
Nicotine salts (or "nic salts") are a more recent innovation that rapidly gained popularity due to their superior flavour, and smoothness on the throat while still delivering a satisfying amount of nicotine.
Today, the vast majority of e-liquids are made using nic salts, but there are still plenty of vapers who prefer freebase.
At the end of the day, there's no "right or wrong" and it's a matter of personal preference, but if you're just starting out and unsure which to go for, we'd highly recommend nic salts as the "go-to" option!
Shortfills are larger bottles of e-liquid (generally 50ml or above) that contain no nicotine. Nicotine shots can then be added to increase the overall nicotine content. All of our shortfills include free nicotine shots.
Freebase nicotine is the purest form of nicotine and has been a standard in vape liquids from the very beginning. Unlike nicotine salts, freebase nicotine is not mixed with additional compounds, making it ideal for those looking for a stronger throat hit, however the flavours generally aren't as vibrant in comparison.
Nicotine shots (or "nic shots") are unflavoured, relatively high-strength e-liquids designed for adding into nicotine-free Shortfills to increase the overall nicotine content. They can also be used on their own as an unflavoured e-liquid
