Vaporesso Xros 4 Nano vape kit

Experience with the Xros 4 Nano

The Vaporesso Xros 4 Nano is one of those kits that seems a little odd at first, especially if you are used to pen-style devices. It is shaped a little like an old MP3 player, with a flat, rounded-square design and circular screen.

However, the shape lends itself to an ergonomic grip despite its very compact form. It works particularly well if you often have shallow pockets, as it will not stick out like many longer vape kits.

The Xros 4 Nano was the first Xros kit to feature a 1.3-inch TFT colour display, providing an interface through which you can access the kit’s numerous features.

The screen displays common metrics including battery percentage, puff count, power or mode and pod resistance. It also lets you customise the power output, wattage and screen theme.

Although a 1.3-inch screen might sound small on paper, it is more than large enough to make these features clear and accessible. Many users remark on how vibrant and easy to read the screen is.

Another positive is its large 1350mAh battery, which can last two to three days with moderate use. Battery life will depend heavily on your usage habits and preferred wattage, with higher wattages naturally depleting it more quickly.

This brings me to one of the less impressive aspects of the device: the screen’s effect on battery life. Having a relatively high-resolution display light up each time you use the kit consumes more power than a simple LED indicator would.

You can disable the animations in the settings, though I found that doing so had a negligible impact on battery performance.

Moving on to the fire button and airflow, both features work well. The kit even gives you the option to switch between automatic draw and button firing. My only issue is their positioning: because the button and airflow control sit close together on one side, it is possible to restrict the airflow with your hand while pressing the button.

Best for people who want plenty of features in a compact device without having to carry a large mod.

Pros

  • Ergonomic design and compact form.
  • Large 1350mAh battery.
  • High-quality display that is easy to read.
  • Plenty of features to customise.
  • Wide choice of colours.

Cons

  • The screen can drain the battery more quickly.
  • Airflow and fire button are positioned slightly awkwardly.

Experience with the Vaporesso Xros 4 Mini

The Xros 4 Mini is one of the best-selling Xros series devices. It is easy to see why: this device often comes at a difficult-to-beat price and offers plenty of value.

Another reason for its popularity is the straightforward design, which lends itself to new users by being simple to operate and maintain. Unlike many Xros devices and modern pod kits in general, the Xros 4 Mini is not packed with features such as a customisable screen, puff counter or wattage control.

All you need to do is fill it with e-liquid and inhale. That is it. There is no fire button, so the Xros 4 Mini relies solely on inhale activation.

The only element you can customise, aside from choosing one of the ten colour options, is the airflow. Set into a recessed area on the side of the device, the slider lets you control the draw from a tight MTL feel to a looser RDTL inhale.

Do not expect it to produce enormous clouds, though. It simply was not designed for that. The kit lacks the wattage and features needed to perform like a purpose-built DTL mod. Its simplicity makes it closer in use to a cigarette than a full-sized mod.

I would not regard that simplicity as a shortcoming. It is a deliberate design choice that makes this one of the best Xros kits for former smokers and newcomers. Another simple but useful feature is the three-colour LED display: green indicates 100%–70% battery, blue 70%–30%, and red anything below 30%.

However, the Xros 4 Mini falls slightly behind the pack in raw battery capacity. The 1000mAh cell is certainly enough to support this low-wattage kit, but it will need charging more often than some of its counterparts.

Thankfully, charging is simple thanks to the built-in Type-C port. A decent-quality charging cable is included with the kit.

Best for newcomers who want a simple, affordable refillable kit with almost no learning curve.

Pros

  • Simple design that is ideal for newcomers.
  • Good colour choice for personalisation.
  • Easy-to-understand LED indicator.

Cons

  • Battery performance is slightly behind some alternatives.

Experience with the Vaporesso Xros 4

Now on to the bigger brother of our previous entry: the Xros 4. This kit shares many of the same characteristics as the Mini, particularly its battery capacity, ease of use and general design choices.

Where it differs is the introduction of more advanced features including power adjustment, button firing, a lock and faster charging.

On the front of the Xros 4, you will find a simple display and circular fire button arranged around an elegant central hub. This serves as the device’s main interface. The display shows the remaining battery level, power setting and lock status.

To interact with these features, you press the fire button multiple times. Three rapid presses cycle through the three power settings — Low, Medium and High — while four presses toggle the lock on or off.

The Xros 4 has a 2A fast-charging port at its base, enabling you to charge the 1000mAh battery in approximately 30 minutes. That helps compensate for the fact it carries the same capacity as the Xros 4 Mini: recharges might be more frequent, but at least they are much shorter.

Like most kits in the Xros line-up, the Xros 4 has a durable construction made primarily from aluminium. It feels good in the hand and looks good too — somewhat like the iPhone of vaping.

Best for people who want a straightforward device with a useful selection of advanced controls at a sensible price.

Pros

  • Smart design that is both functional and visually appealing.
  • Straightforward operation and power adjustment.
  • Lock feature for added safety around children.
  • Fast charging.

Cons

  • Uses the same modest-capacity battery as the Xros 4 Mini.

Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 vape kit

Experience with the Vaporesso Xros Pro 2

Now we reach the most feature-packed and capable kit in the Xros range: the Xros Pro 2. This is a device that takes the concepts and design approach of earlier Xros models and turns everything up.

Built as a direct successor to the original Xros Pro, the Xros Pro 2 uses a 2000mAh battery compared with its predecessor’s 1200mAh cell. That is a major step forward in capacity, but what is even more impressive is its weight.

At only 65g, it is 21g lighter than the original Xros Pro. You might wonder how that is possible with such a substantially larger battery.

The secret is the Xros Pro 2’s magnesium-alloy construction, which cuts weight while maintaining rigidity. It also creates an opulent semi-gloss finish that, in my opinion, makes this one of the best-looking pod kits available right now.

On the front of the device is a recessed screen that blends neatly into the body. You interact with it using the fire button and can access the usual features, including wattage, battery level, animations, power lock and firing modes.

Perhaps the most interesting feature is the puff-count chart. Rather than simply showing a total, the Xros Pro 2 stores your daily puff count and displays it as a graph for day-by-day tracking.

The Xros Pro 2 is not a device I would recommend to a complete newcomer who is unfamiliar with one-button menus. It is better suited to somebody who will actually use its more advanced controls.

The main drawbacks are fairly minor. The recessed screen can look a little dim on lighter-coloured variants, appearing at its best against the darker finishes, while the semi-gloss surface can attract fingerprints.

Best for users who prioritise maximum battery capacity and want the most feature-rich Xros available.

Pros

  • Excellent battery capacity.
  • Wide wattage range for a pod kit.
  • Distinctive display with plenty of useful features.
  • High-quality look and feel.

Cons

  • The screen can look a little dim on lighter-coloured models.
  • Semi-gloss finishes can show fingerprints.

Vaporesso Xros 6 vape kit

Experience with the Vaporesso Xros 6

The top pick for the best overall Xros kit is the Xros 6. This is Vaporesso’s latest flagship Xros model as of October 2026. It takes everything that makes the range great and improves on it in almost every way.

Starting with the design, it is fantastic. Rather than relying on the usual glossy finish, the Xros 6 is available in several finishes across its colour range, with the matte Aurora Blue standing out to me as the best-looking option.

The ergonomics are superb, giving you a comfortable hold around the curved, concave chassis. Both the fire button and airflow control sit in convenient positions for easy access.

The introduction of the VENTURI airflow system is also worth mentioning. Vaporesso states that this approach is designed to create less air turbulence and resistance. In practice, it provides one of the smoothest draws I have tried.

The 0.88-inch screen displays the power mode, battery level, lock status and puff count. It is easy to read and simple to control through the fire button, much like other pod kits with a display.

Another useful option is the coil-priming timer, which counts down for one minute so you know when to begin using a freshly filled pod. This is a genuinely practical feature for newcomers who might not know how long a pod needs to saturate.

The battery is another meaningful improvement. At 1800mAh, it is not quite as large as the 2000mAh cell in the Xros Pro 2, but it remains an impressive capacity for such a slim device. Using the 0.8Ω pod at lower power, I found it difficult to deplete the battery in a single day. Naturally, a 0.4Ω pod at higher wattages will consume it more quickly.

Where the Xros 6 makes back some of that capacity difference is charging speed. It supports up to 3A fast charging, and Vaporesso claims it can reach roughly 50% in only ten minutes. If you already have a compatible fast charger for your phone, you can make full use of that feature.

Power adjustment works in a similar way to other higher-end Xros devices. Most pods let you cycle between different power modes, while the 0.4Ω pod provides more precise wattage control. It gives experienced users something to adjust without presenting a wall of settings to somebody who simply wants to fill the pod and get started.

Best overall: a strong blend of battery life, charging speed, comfort and useful control without unnecessary complexity.

Pros

  • Excellent 1800mAh battery capacity.
  • Extremely fast charging.
  • VENTURI airflow provides a noticeably smooth draw.
  • Clear and useful TFT display.
  • Genuinely useful 60-second coil-priming timer.
  • Compatible with the wider Xros pod range.
  • Excellent ergonomics and finish options.
  • Useful adjustment without becoming overly complicated.

Cons

  • No significant drawbacks stood out during review.

Which Vaporesso Xros Kit Is Best?

After going through five of the best Xros kits currently available, there is no single device that completely replaces all the others.

That might sound like a cop-out after ranking them, but the range has become large enough for each model to serve a slightly different purpose.

If you want something cheap, simple and difficult to get confused by, the Xros 4 Mini still makes plenty of sense. Fill the pod, adjust the airflow and inhale. There is not much else to think about.

The standard Xros 4 is the next logical step up, adding a few controls and faster charging without becoming substantially more complicated.

The Xros 4 Nano is for people who like having a proper screen and more customisation but prefer a shorter, almost square-shaped device instead of the traditional pen format.

Then there is the Xros Pro 2, which is probably the one I would choose for somebody who prioritises raw battery capacity and wants the most feature-heavy Xros possible. Its 2000mAh battery is difficult to argue with.

Finally, there is the Xros 6. It might not win every individual specification, but it comes closest to putting everything together properly. The 1800mAh battery is large without making the device bulky, 3A charging is seriously quick, VENTURI airflow improves an already good pod platform, and the controls strike a welcome balance between simple and customisable.

That is why it takes the number-one position here.

One of the Biggest Advantages of Xros Is the Pods

There is another reason the Xros range remains so easy to recommend, and it does not belong to any single device: the pod ecosystem.

Vaporesso has managed to keep new Xros devices compatible with the wider Xros cartridge range instead of changing the connection with every generation.

That matters more than it might initially seem.

If you decide to upgrade from an Xros 4 to an Xros 6, for example, you are not necessarily left with a pile of useless replacement pods. You can also experiment with different resistances without buying another device.

The available range runs from lower-resistance options such as 0.4Ω, which produce a warmer and looser draw, through to 1.0Ω and 1.2Ω pods for tighter MTL vaping.

For somebody using nic salts, the higher-resistance options make plenty of sense. If you prefer slightly more vapour and airflow, move down the resistance range.

It is a simple system, but that compatibility is probably one of the main reasons Xros has remained successful for so long.

Final Thoughts

The Xros series has changed considerably since the original device appeared in 2020.

What started as a relatively basic refillable pod system has gradually expanded into everything from stripped-back beginner kits to devices with colour displays, adjustable wattage, puff tracking and batteries approaching the capacity of much larger vape kits.

Importantly, Vaporesso has not completely lost sight of what made the range popular in the first place.

The devices are still compact and easy to refill. The pods remain widely compatible, and you do not need an engineering degree to work out how to use one.

That is probably the real reason the Xros range has stuck around while plenty of other pod families have disappeared after a generation or two.

As for which one you should buy, do not automatically assume the most expensive or feature-packed model is going to suit you best.

  • For simplicity: choose the Xros 4 Mini.
  • For a balance of simplicity and control: the Xros 4 is still excellent.
  • For a screen and more customisation: look towards the Xros 4 Nano or Xros Pro 2.
  • For the best all-round Xros kit in 2026: choose the Vaporesso Xros 6.

The Xros 6 takes the things the range was already good at, improves the areas that actually matter and, thankfully, does not try to reinvent something that was not broken in the first place.

Hi, I'm Jakub, the lead content writer here at UK Vape Scene. I'm relatively new to the vaping industry, having joined the company in early 2023.

That being said, I've been a vaping enthusiast for much longer (around 7 years) which has allowed me to pick up a lot of expertise and product knowledge along the way.

Like so many others, vaping has helped me kick smoking — a nasty habit I picked up as a teenager. Currently, I'm using the Caliburn G4 Pro with our very own Ultimate Nerd Salts (Pineapple Ice is the best!)

Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, playing PC games and DIY. At the moment I'm also getting into brewing mead, so who knows - maybe "UK Mead Scene" is coming soon?!
